Flash’s Hoops…Parent’s Comments
“What they’re saying about Bill Flanagan”
Parents…the following comments are taken from just a few of the many letters that we have received from parents over the years that we have been running camps. We have purposely just used first names of parents to protect their anonymity.

“Bill ‘Flash’ Flanagan and Flash’s Hoops encouraged our son in goals, work habits, dedication, and the exposure to all levels of college basketball recruiters including the Big Ten. Do you think a small town basketball player could get this type of exposure anywhere else? No, we know better because we tried many times before with our son.
Our son attended a division one school on a full athletic scholarship… a dream come true for him! Without our friend Flash and his people and contacts this would have never been possible. Our son played 4 years of D-1 basketball and was the first one of our family to graduate with a college degree!”

“Your event would seem to me to have unlimited possibilities for many potential recruits, and also for the college coaches. You truly know how to organize, recruit, and operate camps like this. Your no-nonsense approach, as well as the many contacts and connections that you have, explain to me why there were probably 40 to 50 “big-time” coaches in attendance. My son and I have attended similar events in other areas and there is no comparison. The most remarkable thing to me, however, is the fact that when the event was over, you kicked it into overdrive and fully supported and promoted my son!”

“Your advice and guidance have been invaluable to our son in maturing as a basketball player and individual. It isn’t often you find someone who can evaluate talent in a 15 year old “raw-boned” young man. There are so many aspects involved in the ability to play on the next level. Your enthusiasm has inspired our son and many other young men. They realize that with lots of correct work and dedication they have a chance to continue their playing days in college because of your help.”

Flash had invited my son to his spring camp. I was impressed with the organization and the running of this camp. It included having some of the best kids in the state of Illinois, so the competition was at a very high level. The games were run in timely manner and the location where it was held was very adequate for handling the number of kids, parents, etc. Because of this event my son was looked at by close to 100 different coaches at all college levels including D-1…where he ended up!
In regard to follow up, my son received letters, phone calls, etc. from college coaches at all levels that he would not have received by only playing high school basketball. If it wasn’t for Bill Flanagan allowing my son’s talent to be seen, it would have been very difficult for him to realize his goals and dreams of playing D-1 basketball. “Flash” is able to recognize talent and see where that talent could be used on the college level.
In conclusion, my opinion is that all of the kids that attend ‘Flash’s’ camps receive great exposure to college coaches. I also look forward to sending my younger son to the camps so he can receive the excellent exposure he also deserves. Many thanks go out to ‘Flash’ Flanagan not only for what he’s done for my son, but for all the other kids he has helped and will help in the future!”
