When Shaun first started coming to my camps, I had to be sold on the idea by his dad Reggie and a friend of mine named Scott Meister to allow him even to play. I was fearful that he might get hurt playing against guys that were so much bigger and more physical than him but Reggie was persistent and my friend Scott said that it would be OK, so I reluctantly agreed to it and held my breath!
What Shaun lacked in size he easily made up for in ability as the little guy could hold his own against these big “monsters” like Eddy Curry and Joey Range and Brian Cook not to mention Quentin Richardson and Dwayne Wade!
Reggie took Shaun everywhere and Shaun wasn’t afraid to play against any one! So I guess my fears proved to be unfounded. And from then on Shaun always played in my events!
